

Rovers kicked off on a bright and sunny morning on King George playing field as the stronger side scoring 3 tries in the first 10 minutes. The Rovers pack where dominant with Jaxson Poad in the second row causing mayhem in the Westoe defence. The first try was scored by Harry Calvert going over from close range converted by Sonny Wintersgill. 7-0 Sonny scored the second try of the day after a 20 yard run and converted his own try.14-0
Alec Bramfitt threatened on the wing and got his try after some good play in the backs from Adam Lister and Dylan Clarke put Alec in space to score 19-0
Rovers scored again before half time with Sonny Wintersgill driving over through a sea of Westoe players. Sonny converted half time. 26-0
Westoe came alive in the second half and pressed rovers back into their own half. Rovers defended well with Sam Robertson Kian Turner and Hayden Menzies putting in great tackles. Rovers Full back Austin Keegan pounced on a loose pass to go half of the pitch and score under the posts allowing an easy kick for Sonny 33-0
Westoe scored next but could not covert 33-5
Alec Bramfitt was back on the score sheet next with a fine run from 35 yards out beating his opposing winger and full back . Sonny Converted 40-5
Rovers sealed the win with a 1st try of the season from Harry Dowdle powering over from 10 yards out, Sonny Wintersgill once again adding the conversion for a 47-5 win.
