We are sad to announce the passing of Tony Lowe.

A Life Member of many years standing, Tony Lowe passed away late on Wednesday night at the age of 78.
Following his playing days, Tony served on several committees at Rovers and was also instrumental in arranging a number of memorable club tours, mainly to Ireland, where he had forged many connections, not least with Greystones RFC. His Irish connections were also reflected when he assembled teams to oppose Rovers in the R. F. Oakes’ memorial games, so much so he was affectionally known to many as Tony O’Lowe. Tony was a larger-than-life character and could often be seen watching Rovers alongside his friend, the late John Hill, each Rover’s score being celebrated with “sippers” or “gulpers” from a bottle of Jameson Irish whiskey.
Tony will be missed by all who knew him here at Rovers and our condolences go out to his wife Sue, family David, Caroline, and Sarah and his grandchildren.
