Tomorrow promises an exciting clash as Hartlepool Rovers welcome league leaders Barnard Castle. Both sides are in fine form, setting the stage for a thrilling contest.
Barnard Castle remain unbeaten with a 100% record and sit comfortably at the top of the table. Hartlepool Rovers, buoyed by last week’s colossal away win at Ashington, are in third place and hot on the heels of Houghton. A win tomorrow would keep the pressure on the top spots, but Barnard Castle will provide a stern test.
Team News: Rovers make several changes from last week. Maguire and Pinchen come into the front row. Ethan Wilkins returns to join the powerful Lloyd in the second row. Experienced Tyrone Church comes in at openside, and the exciting Harry Calvert starts at number 8. Matty Stephenson takes over at scrum-half with Lithgo at fly-half. Captain Gunn continues at inside centre alongside Rochester at 13. The back three features Kieran Wright, Ste Railton and the livewire Trimble.
One of the highlights is the inclusion of Colts captain Jay Wintersgill, who makes his first-team debut after impressive displays for the Heughers.
Elsewhere, the Heughers are also at home, hosting Upper Eden on KGV at 2:00 PM. Their squad blends experience with youth, with several Colts continuing their transition to senior rugby.
