Game Day Preview

Three games today for you to enjoy.

Hartlepool Rovers host Westoe today at 2 PM in a crucial league match. Rovers will be looking to build on their earlier victory against Westoe, where they secured a 22-40 win. However, that scoreline did not fully reflect the challenge posed by Westoe, who proved to be tough opponents. Today's match is expected to be equally competitive.

Rovers have made several adjustments to last week's winning lineup: the back line remains unchanged, providing consistency in the attack. In the forwards, Callum Whitehead steps into the second row to partner with Elliott Reed. Andrew Dring starts at blindside flanker, and Jack Gunn, who has been performing well since his switch from centre to number 8, will take on the role of stand-in skipper.

The bench is filled with experience, boasting over 100 years collectively, featuring Billy Lloyd, Franky Coulson, and Darren Smith.

Today's game is generously sponsored by Aquaroc Bathrooms and H Tones Oxford Garage. A special thanks goes to Mark and Henry Tones for their support.
Supporters can enjoy refreshments from the Florentine Coffee van and are encouraged to purchase raffle tickets from Shirley for a chance to win in the fabulous Robert Moore Butchers meat draw.

In addition to the 1st team match, the Heughers will be making the short trip to face Peterlee & Horden, featuring six of our Colts in the squad. This is a significant milestone for the club as it highlights the successful transition of our thriving juniors into senior rugby.

The under 12 boys will play a curtain raiser against The Newcastle School For Boys. Kick off is 10:30am. This is a chance for our players to test themselves against a top independent school. And a chance to form new friendships.

Both 6 Nations games will screened in the club house. We have recently upgraded the TVs to give you optimum viewing experience. We also have Sky Sports and TNT Sports so you’re covered for all of today’s live TV sport.

We look forward to an exciting match and hope to see a big crowd to support the lads.
