Hartlepool Rovers, Eden Arts, and Hartlepool Borough Council join forces to promote sporting opportunities for women and honour local female sporting successes

Hartlepool Rovers, in collaboration with Eden Arts and Hartlepool Borough Council, is thrilled to announce a forthcoming gala event that aims to celebrate women in sport. Scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2024, the event, aptly titled "Celebrating Women in Sport," promises to showcase the rich tapestry of female sporting successes in Hartlepool and the wider northern region.

The event, which will be free to attend, is set to take place between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM at the Hartlepool Rovers Rugby Club, West View Road, Hartlepool, TS24 0BP. Following the daytime activities, a social event will be held in the clubhouse starting at 7:00 PM.

One of the primary objectives of the gala event is to promote sporting opportunities available to girls and women. Hartlepool Rovers plans to feature on-field displays and participation sessions, allowing local clubs and groups to showcase their respective sports. This interactive approach will encourage engagement and foster interest in various sporting activities.

Moreover, the event aims to serve as a networking and recruiting platform, facilitating conversations between individuals and sporting organisations. This initiative seeks to break down barriers that girls may face when accessing and participating in sports, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities for all.

In addition to sports-focused activities, the organisers are extending invitations to local charitable organisations with an interest in health and well-being.
