About Neil Back MBE
Neil Antony Back MBE, born January 16, 1969, is a former international rugby union footballer for England and the British & Irish Lions. Back played for Nottingham RFC and Leicester Tigers, captaining both England and Leicester during his career. A tenacious and skilful player, Back was an integral part of England's 2003 Rugby World Cup-winning side.
Made 339 appearances for Leicester Tigers, scoring a club record of 125 tries for a forward.
Won 66 caps for England, including four as captain.
Played in three World Cups (1995, 1999, and 2003), winning the 2003 World Cup.
Went on three British and Irish Lions tours (1997, 2001, and 2005)
Oldest man to start a test for the Lions, in 2005 against the All Blacks
Back's coaching career started at Leicester Tigers, and he has since coached Leeds Carnegie, Rugby Lions, and Edinburgh Rugby. Beyond rugby, Back is involved in business development and co-founded a wellness company. Neil is also an ambassador for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust Stop Smoking Service’s 'Balls to Stop' campaign.
