New strips, loads of good rugby and a half time pep talk from a couple of Falcons’ players - what better way to spend a Sunday morning?
The U11s donned their smart new kit and headed to West to play against a team they have come to know well this last past few years.
Some great rugby from both sides with West quickest out of the blocks with good runs by West’s Henry, Ben, Ted, Harry, Aidan andTilly all looking impressive with big runs down the outside.
Rovers were reliant a little too much on Harry, Lyla, Sam and Jay in the early stages, until Charlie took a high ball and set off on a mazy run which seemed to wake the rest of the team into what became a superb all-round team effort. So much so, the coaches struggled to pick a ‘player of the week’.
Throughout the next few matches, Emily, Jack and Olly (sporting a bloody nose) all worked hard to make ground, supported by the barnstorming Harry and Jay throughout.
George has discovered he kicks like Jonny Wilkinson and Lyla tackles like him; and we have our own Jonny May in Oscar who evidently loves scoring a try from his own ‘22’.
Hayden, Arron and Jackson played superb in what is still very early days for their rugby, but you wouldn’t know it! H and A playing in their first ever game.
It won’t be long until we play West again, next week in fact, when we all travel to Middlesbrough to take part in a mini-festival.
