The lads ran out on the Friarage missing some key members of the team that did so well in last years Candy league B, with Eggy, Wisey, Baxter and Stringer missing due to unavailability and Muller, Squid and Carl Brown missing after their moves to other clubs. The game was nip and tuck all way and with 45 seconds left the game looked to Alnwicks. However Callum Whitehead playing out of position in the 2nd row rose at the lineout to give quick ball off the front the on-rushing winger Adam Smith who went over for his 3rd try of the day and won the game for Rovers. It seems be be business as usual for the 2nds after loosing only 4 league games last year. Special mentioned should be made to Scot Buttery who played out of position in the front row, Tyrone Church playing at 8 this week was again immense in the tackle area turning over a huge amount of ball but Matty Stephenson at scrum half get man of the match.
