Rovers started well going down into the wind that didn't seem so bad until the kicking started, then the advantage was obvious to all. Liam Armstrong showed his class with some strong runs, bouncing off tackles and on one such run he ended it with a great offload for Jack Gunn to score an unconverted try, 0 - 5.
Seaton hit back with a penalty, 3 - 5 and started to apply pressure with the back line looking strong in particular the full back who was causing a lot of problems.
Rovers were doing well in the line with Hanley and Baxter and Olly Dakers also pinched a couple against the head in the scrum but despite having a lot of ball, knock-ons, foward passes, dropped balls and wrong options gave little return from the posession they had. They also weren't helping themselves in defence with a lot of missed tackles trying to take the ball carrier high rather than round the legs.
Seaton got a second penalty then a third and finished the half 9 - 5 in front.
Rovers picked the pace up in the second half with Bullock and Grazier entering the game they soon ended up camped on the Seaton line. Stevo Baxter was deemed to have been held up but was unlucky with the ref (who had a good game) on the other side so couldn't see the grounding.
Grazier and Matty Saunders were also held up but Danny Cookland proved too strong from close range and barged over for a try, Daz hit the post with the conversion, 9 - 10.
Disaster then struck with an intercepted pass gifting Seaton a 70m run in to take the lead back 14 - 10. Daz kicked a penalty to go 14 - 13 and missed a long range penalty a bit later but with time running out the cool head and experience of Chris Sainty paid off as he slotted over a 30m drop goal to go ahead 14 - 16.
Seaton forced a penalty but chose to kick to the corner rather than chance going for goal into the wind but Rovers cleared their lines to see out the game and go on to meet West iun the semi-final.
