Our women’s and girls teams continue to thrive since our return after lockdown.

And we are looking for more of you to get involved!

Due to Covid all rugby was suspended. But from the 29th of March we resumed training. Already having a large number of players it was fantastic to see a flurry of new ladies and girls get involved with our club.

We have had 10 new girls players and a number of ladies take the plunge and join in with our sessions.

Our Ladies train on Wednesdays at 6.30pm. This is for any lady aged 17 and above.

Our girls train on Thursday 6.00pm and Sundays 12.00 noon. And this is for girls in school year 6 to 13

Like always at this time of year we welcome girls in year 6 who will be ready to move up to under 13 girls only rugby in September. This is a chance to see what we are about and get to know your coaches and team mates ready for next season. So if you have played a bit of tag rugby at primary school and want to take it to the next level or your current club doesn’t have a girls offering then this is the perfect opportunity to join our established set up. We have already had 7 year 6 players join us and these girls will move seamlessly into our established u13s in September.

Why Rugby and Why Rovers?
Participation levels in female rugby are growing fast. More and more women and girls are getting involved. It’s a great way to keep fit, learn new skills, make new friends, and a chance for a good social.

Women’s and Girls at Rovers are into our 6th year. We have teams for under 13s, 15s, 18s, and our ladies. We have an established set up with dedicated, DBS checked, qualified coaches, who understand the female game and player pathways.

We have regular games at all age groups and our ladies compete in the RFU league pyramid playing at level 4.

Our head ladies head coach, Emily, currently plays in the women’s premiership and brings lots of experience from that elite level and makes it fun for our players.

We have had a number of our junior players represent Durham County, North of England, and even an England under 18 trialist. Several players have been training at the DMP sharks centre of excellence and academy.

It doesn’t matter if you are totally new to the sport or looking for a new challenge at a different club. You will be very welcome at Hartlepool Rovers.

Keep an eye out for details of our Inner Warrior event in May.
