Hartlepool Rovers recently hosted the RFU Honda Volunteer Awards.
Like all clubs, Rovers relies on an army of volunteers to make our club function.
This event is a chance for the RFU to recognise and reward those volunteers who contribute to grassroots rugby.
Those from Rovers who were nominated were:
Brian Bambrough
Dani Jeffreys-Coulton
Emma Jeffreys-Lamb
George Hewitt
Glyn Hewitt
Darren “Pinky” Graves
Ian “Miffy” Smith
Jim Turner
Lynne Hewitt
Damion Sheehy
Harriett Todd
Mark Power
Ste Smith
Moira Bowden
All those nominated for a Honda Volunteers award received a certificate & award.
Furthermore there were 5 county finalists chosen by Durham CB panel.
These 5 nominations are sent to the National panel who chose 2 to go to the National Awards at Twickenham in August, to which Rovers’ Moira Bowden was one and received a bottle of Champagne.
Well done to all of our volunteers and a special well done to Moira who now heads to Twickenham for a chance of the national award.
